Several interesting pieces in this month's newsletter are about trends and developments in the industry. Not so much in terms of new technologies or designs but in the overall direction of the global market.
Mike Redwood's regular Cool Hunting looks at how the direction of tomorrow's trends lie in improbable places yet are all around us: part of everyday life in fact. Mike was also involved in the successful seminar led by David Shah that carried the (no explanation needed) title "Luxury Goods and the Leather Industry - Follow The Money". An example of this might be Fashion Avenue exhibitor Jill Scott where the product was developed in Hong Kong to fit the very English name.
Several APLF exhibitions are looming and latest developments can be seen for APLF - Materials, Manufacturing and Technology (MM&T); Fashion Access (FA); Prime Source Forum and - of course - the new Footwear Materials, Manufacturing and Technology (fMM&T) in India. Included is a brief but concise overview of the Indian footwear market.
